Solution:

Emasculation involves removal of the anthers from a bisexual flower before anthesis i.e. opening of bud. Emasculation is required to prevent self pollination in a bisexual flower in order to allow selective hybridisation. It is followed by bagging of emasculated flower in order to ensure that pollen from any other source would not fertilize the egg. In case of unisexual flowers, only bagging of female flowers is done to facilitate selective hybridisation.
