Centrolecithal eggs describe the placement of the yolk in the centre of cytoplasm of the ovum. Homolecithal eggs contain a homogenously distributed yolk. Meiolecithal eggs contain very large amount of yolk which occupies nearly, the entire ooplasm and leaving only small disc-like area for nucleus. Telolecithal eggs most of the yolk is at the vegetal pole.
