: Cortisol is the next most important hormone secreted during stress after epinephrine and norepinephrine. When an animal or human is exposed to any noxious potential stimuli, there is an increased secretion of ACTH and consequently, a rise in the circulating glucocorticoid level. Glucagon helps to raise the blood glucose level required during stress. Vasopressin and aldosterone helps in the retention of water during stress.
