The chlorophylls are basically chelate salts of magnesium (Mg). The chlorophyll has a molecular formula C55H7205N4Mg. Chlorophyll molecule is ditineuishable into head of size 15×15A˚ and a tail of 20A˚ length. The head is made up of prophyrin (a tetraphyrrole closed rings derivative) and the tail of phytol.
