Auditory ossicles are three small bones present in the middle ear. These three ear ossicles are malleus, the incus and the stapes. These three bones are in the sequence of malleus, incus and stapes and are attached to each other. Their function is to increase the intensity of sound waves. The cavity of middle ear communicates with that of pharynx through the air filled tube called Eustachian tube. The Eustachian tube maintains the balance in the air pressure between two sides of the ear drum and thus allows it to vibrate freely when sound waves impinge on it.
