Amoebic dysentery is caused by endoparasite protozoan Entamoeba histolytica. This disease spreads through uncooked food, unhygienic food and faecal contamination, etc. Symptoms of this disease include diarrhoea with loss of blood in stools, fever, nausea and vomitting. Metronidazole, Dioxamide furoate, etc., are some medicines useful against this disease.
