Mesozoic era is known as age of reptiles. Birth of modem reptiles and their advancement to the mammalian transition occurred gradually during the three phases of this era. Cenozoic era is the age of mammals. Palaeozoic era is the age of ancient life. Precambrian era occurred after second great revolution where considerable amounts of fossils was lost.
