Particle at periphery will have both radial and tangential acceleration
$a_t=R_{\alpha }=0.5\times 2=1m/s^2$
$\omega ={\omega }_0+\alpha t$
$\omega =0+2\times 2=4$ rad/sec
$a_c={\omega }^{2}R=(4{)}^2\times 0.5=16\times 0.5=8m/s^2$
$a_{total}=\sqrt{a_p^2+a_c^2}=\sqrt{1^2+8^2}\approx 8m/s^2$
