Solution:

The steps involved in parturition are as follows:
$1.$ The fully developed foetus and the placenta give rise to signals for parturition.
$2.$ This induces mild uterine contractions known as foetal ejection reflex.
$3.$ This stimulates the release of oxytocin from the maternal pituitary.
$4.$ The uterine contractions keep getting stronger which causes further release of oxytocin.
$5.$ The simultaneous uterine contractions and release of oxytocin finally causes the expulsion of the baby from the birth canal.
