Q. A metallic resistor is connected across a battery. If the number of collisions of the free electrons with the lattice is some how decreased in the resistor (for example by cooling it), the current will

Current Electricity

Solution:

If number of collisions of the free electrons with the lattice is decreased, the time of relaxation of electrons will increases. Due to which drift velocity of electrons will increase and hence current will increase.
